The weekend

Montréal in June, and a circuit that bites

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve runs round an island in the St Lawrence, a few metro stops from downtown Montréal. It is fast, flat and unforgiving: long straights into heavy braking, chicanes lined with walls, and the Wall of Champions at the final corner, named for the world champions it has caught out. It produces safety cars, surprises and some of the best races of the year, almost every year. Nobody leaves early.

Montréal in June is the other reason to come. Old Montréal’s cobbled streets and terraces, the Plateau’s restaurants, the festival that takes over Crescent Street for race week and long, light evenings on the water. We book hotels in the old town, seats or hospitality on the island, and transfers that make the circuit a ten-minute hop, with an Elite host with you throughout the weekend. It is the friendliest Grand Prix on the calendar.

What it’s actually like

The cars come out of the hairpin and into the long run to the final chicane, the wall waiting on the exit, and the whole island holds its breath. Montréal is a city that loves a party, and in June the party has a Grand Prix in the middle of it.

Why Elite

Montréal’s old town hotels sell out for race week, and the island’s hospitality goes with them. We hold both, along with the transfers that turn a packed metro into a short hop. Tell us how you want the weekend to run, and we will build it around the racing and the city.
