Turn 8, and the circuit the drivers never stopped missing
Istanbul Park left the calendar and the drivers never stopped talking about it. Turn 8 is the reason: a quadruple-apex left-hander taken at well over 250 kilometres an hour that loads the car for five full seconds, the hardest corner in the sport by some margin. The rest of the lap is fast, wide and full of overtaking, with big elevation changes and a layout that rewards bravery. Its return is overdue.
Istanbul is the other draw: a city on two continents, the Bosphorus running between them, the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and some of the best food on the calendar. We book hotels on the European side with the water in view, seats or hospitality at the circuit and the transfers across the city, and an Elite host is with you throughout the weekend.
