The Circuit of the Americas is the best track in the United States: a climbing first corner that rises thirty metres in a few hundred, a copy of Silverstone’s fastest sequence, a long back straight and a stadium section where the crowd sits on top of the action. More than four hundred thousand come over the weekend, in cowboy boots and team shirts, and the concerts at the circuit are headline acts.
Austin is the live music capital of the world and it behaves like it, with Sixth Street and Rainey Street going all night, barbecue worth queuing for and breakfast tacos to recover with. We book hotels downtown, seats on the hill at Turn 1 or hospitality above the pits, and the transfers out to the circuit, with an Elite host beside you throughout.
